To ensure the best possible recycling opportunity for your plastic waste we have compiled a list below of the types of plastics we can currently take.

They need to be relatively clean, with minimal contamination from metal, rubber, glass, plaster, stones, mud, etc.

 

Examples of what we can take:

  • Patio tables & chairs

  • Buckets

  • Drums (must be washed out – any size)

  • Washing baskets

  • Washing up bowls

  • Cutlery trays

  • Plastic containers/crates/draws/trays

  • Storage boxes

  • Tool boxes/cases/chests

  • Guttering & downpipe

  • Children’s play houses

  • Children’s sand/ball pits

  • Water buts

  • Compost containers

  • Dustbins

  • Children’s chairs

  • Plastic Lids

  • Plastic trolleys

Some we can take, but with exceptions:

  • Pipe - Yellow (Gas), Blue (Water), Black (Drainage), unfortunately no white under-sink pipe

  • Flowerpots – Any size (But no seed trays)

  • Road cones (except black bases)

  • Child car seats – as long as any metal, straps & coverings are removed.

  • DVD & VHS Cases – no paper (Not CD Cases)

Examples of what we can’t take:

  • Plastics heavily contaminated with sealant, lots of screws, concrete, etc.

  • Food & domestic packaging

  • Children’s toys

  • Window frames

  • Fibreglass ‘GRP’

  • Electrical goods

  • Garden hoses

  • Bath tubs

  • Rubber

  • Soap dispensers

  • Castors

  • Toilet cisterns

  • Wellington boots
